Chapter 2 - Your Stable
Responsibilities Of Stable Owners
As a stable owner, you have ultimate responsibility for the operations of your stable.
The racing steward will keep and maintain records pertaining to which horses you own, how
much they earn, and your bank account information. But you should keep your own records
and check your online account at least once each week. In the event that there is an
error, it is your responsibility to report that error as soon as possible so that it can
be corrected promptly.
You will also be responsible for keeping your stable active in the game. Inactive
stables are deleted automatically without notice. You are also responsible for meeting all
deadlines in the game, such as the deadline for race entries and for turning in your Year
End Report (discussed later).
Logging In To Your Stable Information Page
Once you receive an email from the racing steward confirming that your stable setup is
complete, you are ready to log in to your stable to view your horses, your bank
account, and manage horse sales or race entries for your stable. To log in to your stable,
go to the main web page and click on the Stables link on the left. You will be taken to
the Stables listing page. This page lists all the stables currently in the game, along
with their silks if any, their country of origin, and links to their web sites, if any. It
also provides links to the other players email addresses, a world map with the
locations of other stables in the game, and a template you can download to design silks
for your own stable. (More details on this later.)
To log into your stable, click the link at the top of the page. This will take you to a
login window. Type in the same username and password that you used when you registered on
the Forum.
Once logged in, you will be taken to your stables information page. This page
contains a list of all horses you own, and your bank account information. At the top of
the page is
the number of total stalls in your stable and the number of horses you currently own.
Each stall may hold one horse. It is your responsibility to keep track of how many free
and full stalls you have, and not buy or breed more horses than you have room for in your
stable. If you have too many horses, you may be required to sell one or lose one at
random.
Directly beneath this number are links to other functions. View Race Card will let you
view the race card for the current racing week. Manage entries takes you to the online
race entry system. View sales list takes you to the listing of horses currently up for
sale by other players in the game. Manage horse sales takes you to the online sales
system, where you may offer your own horses for sale. Logoff will log you out of your
stable page. These links will be discussed in further detail later.
Beneath the links is the list of horses you own. Each horse has its ID number, name,
age, gender, status, winnings, and race record. Each horses name is linked so that
if you click on it, you will be taken to the information page for that horse. The horse
information page contains the horses pedigree, picture, sales record, past
performances, and offspring if any.
Below the list of horses are the details of your bank account. Any time money is
transferred into or out of your stables account, it is recorded here. It is your
responsibility to check your account and make sure that any errors are pointed out to the
steward promptly.
Stalls
You need to keep careful track of your stall space. If you acquire more horses than you
have room for, you will need to get rid of stock or obtain extra stalls as soon as
possible or risk losing horses. Ways to expand your stable are covered in Chapter 9.
